Ericka Markman
Founder/Principal
Ericka Markman offers decades of experience in the field of education as a counselor, educator and entrepreneur. Prior to founding Markman Educational Consulting, she spent more than 25 years building and managing educational enterprises and working with K-12 students and their families, first as President of National Geographic’s Education division and then as CEO and Founder of Millmark Education. Ericka holds a BA from Brown University, an MBA and Masters in Education from Stanford University, and a UCLA Graduate Certificate in College Counseling. She is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. She is a certified Greenwood System Counselor.
Ericka serves on the boards of the Latin American Bilingual charter school in Washington, DC, Naturebridge and Project Learning Tree. She also volunteers at the DC chapter of Minds Matter, a non-profit group that provides college counseling services to academically successful, low-income high school students. Previously she served as a Trustee of the National Geographic Society Education Foundation, the JASON Foundation for Education, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of American Publisher’s School Division.
Ericka has raised three children and enjoyed watching them explore their interests, find their unique paths and thrive in right-fit colleges.
